Phuck Cole Hammels

I read this quote from Cole Hammels over at Metsblog.com and it makes me dislike Hammels even more than I already did. I already disliked him for his bitching over the amount the Phillies were offering for arbitration last year. You're one of the better pitchers in baseball and are sure to make a ton of money when you hit free agency and you're complaining about one year's raise? It annoyed me especially when John Maine was saying that he was happy with whatever he was being offered for arbitration. Now Hammels comes out with this quote that they see the Mets as choke artists. Even if you do, that's just unprofessional to say to the media. Get off your high horse.

so he basically admitted that since we are choke artists (which we are) that they lucked into the playoffs the past two years. way to put down your own accomplishments cole. could've just said no we were the better team the last two years and deserved to win....but no, good one cole.

shame i actually liked cole too.

wonder if this stirs anything up the next time we play each other. probably not though

Woah, he never said they lucked into the play-offs. He just said the mets cant hold a lead to save their children, thats all. I love Cole Hamels even more for this, cause he told the mets and their fans to SUCK IT. O, and he has a ring to back it up

Actually Steve being lucked in is basically what that means. If the Mets didn't choke the Phillies woulnd't have been there. I also don't see 2008 as much of a choke. 2007 on the other hand we gave them the division. 2008 we were plagued by injuries, with a sprinkle of choking. Plus it's not about whether the Mets choked it away or not; the point is that its unprofessional thing to say to the media. If Evan Longoria or Dustin Pedroia said that about the Yankees, you'd be bitching about it (I also use those 2 because they are young like Cole Hammels.) Cole Hammels isn't even the best pitcher in the MLB, the NL, or the NL East. While he could eventually be, he isn't.
